Please help us to help others by making a charitable donation to ALDS. We rely on donations to fund our work to support people affected by leukodystrophy. We are a ‘not for profit’ organisation, and so are recognised by the Australian Government as a charity for tax deduction purposes.

Ritchies Community Benefit Card
Ritchies Community Benefit Card and ALDS
If you live close enough to shop at a Ritchies IGA supermarket or liquor store, you can have your shopping dollar help ALDS.
The Community Benefit Card is simply a card that a shopper presents each time a purchase is made. No personal details are required when you apply for a card – only the nominated organisation where you’d like a donation to be made.
By donating 1% of the amount people spend when they present a Community Benefit Card, so far Ritchies has donated over $16 million to clubs, schools and charities. The only requirement is a minimum amount spent every month – not by you, but the total of all people who’ve nominated ALDS as their charity. So the more people that use the card, the more likely that ALDS can benefit.
How do you get and activate a Ritchies Community Benefit Card?
When you visit a Ritchies store, ask for a Community Benefit Card Application form. Simply enter “ALDS” and the relevant CB Number on the form.
The CB Numbers for ALDS are 94648 (for Victoria) and 94036 (for NSW).
The Application Form is returned to Ritchies Head Office, where your Community Benefit Card number and the CB number for your nominated group is entered into our computer.
Your Ritchies Community Benefit Card will be issued and can be used immediately.
You will be offered a choice of a key tag version to place upon your key ring, or you might prefer the convenience of a Plastic Card to place in your wallet or purse, or you might prefer one of each. The choice is up to you.
How does the Ritchies Community Benefit Card work?
Every time you shop you will be asked by one of Ritchies friendly cashiers to present your Community Benefit Card.
Your card will be scanned at the register, which will automatically allocate 1% of the money you spend to ALDS. It will also automatically allocate the discounted price on ‘CB’ in-store shopping specials.
To get the minimum donation of $10 in any month, a total amount (from all shoppers nominating ALDS) of $1,000 has to be spent in that month. It therefore only takes 10 members spending $25 a week for 4 weeks to qualify for this minimum donation, and there is no maximum limit.
The more people who nominate ALDS as their nominated charity, the more chance we have of exceeding the threshold required for the monthly donation. So encourage your wider family and friends to shop at Ritchies with a Community Benefit Card with ALDS as the nominated charity.
